Hostel Room Rules
To maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable living environment for all residents, the following rules must be observed:
1. Mobile Phone Prohibition Rules:
- Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in Campus, Students must adhere to these restrictions to maintain focus and minimize distractions.
2. Respect for Hostel Property
- Property Care: Students are expected to treat all hostel property with respect. This includes furniture, appliances, and common areas.
- No Tampering: Do not alter, damage, or remove hostel property.
3. Misconduct with Officials
- Respect for Staff: All hostel staff and officials must be treated with respect. Disrespectful behavior, including yelling or using offensive language, will not be tolerated.
- Cooperation: Students must comply with rules and regulations as applicable by hostel officials. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
4. Zero Tolerance for Physical Abuse
- No Violence: Any form of physical abuse, including fighting or harassment, is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate disciplinary action, including potential expulsion from the hostel.
- Conflict Resolution: Conflicts should be resolved through discussion or by seeking assistance from hostel management rather than resorting to aggression.
5. Damage to Property
- Financial Responsibility: Students will be held financially responsible for any damage to hostel property caused by negligence, vandalism, or intentional actions.
- Reporting Damage: Any damage to property should be reported to hostel management immediately. Prompt reporting can mitigate repair costs.
6. Noise Regulations
- Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are in effect from 10 PM to 6 AM. During this time, students must keep noise to a minimum, including loud conversations, music, and television.
- Group Activities: If hosting students are engaging in group activities, students should move to common areas and keep noise levels appropriate.
- Respect for Others: Always be considerate of fellow residents’ need for rest and study.
7. Prohibition of Ragging
- Zero Tolerance: Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited on campus and within hostel premises. This applies to all students, regardless of their year or status.
8. Disciplinary Actions
- Consequences of Violations: Violations of these rules will result in disciplinary action, which may include:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Fines for damages or misconduct
- Loss of hostel privileges
- Eviction from the hostel
- Suspension/Termination from the University
